Becoming a member is a special privilege. Unlike a bank, not everyone can join, but qualifying for membership at Credit Union of Ohio is relatively easy. If you work for a Select Employer Group or if you live, work, worship, or attend school in an eligible community, you can join. Once you're a member, you're always a member.
Credit Union of Ohio began in 1967 and was originally known as State Employees Credit Union. We’ve always been open to State of Ohio employees, including those who have retired from the State. If you are currently employed by the State of Ohio or you’ve retired from your state employment, you are eligible to become a member.
As an additional benefit to State Employees, we also provide payroll calendars to State of Ohio agencies and employees each year.
